What are Psychic Kids?

Most children are natural born psychics*. They are completely open to seeing, hearing and feeling all that is around them. You may notice your child, at a very young age looking over your shoulder and giggling. Perhaps your toddler has an “invisible” friend. “Invisible friends” will often turn out to be angels, faeries, and deceased loved ones, like a grandfather or grandmother. They may see colours around people and animals or have very strong feelings about people, places or situations.

*There are different types of psychic children, such as Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow.

Usually by the age of two, you’ll have noticed if some of these things ring true for you. Although, it could be as late as four years of age before you notice the signs. Once you notice and can confirm that your child is indeed psychic, what then?

It all depends on you, your upbringing, your belief system, and your faith. You can learn all you can about what your child is going through and encourage it, talk to them about it, give them an opportunity to be open and share their experiences with you. Find other parents with psychic children so you can share your experiences and let the kids be in a similar loving environment where they can express themselves by being open and creative and by being true to themselves and really being who they are and who they are meant to be.

Or you can discourage it. Sadly, there are many children that are discouraged from being who they really are. They try to share their experiences but are constantly rejected, so they turn inwards. By not allowing your child to share these experiences with you, in the hopes of turning it off, you’re also telling them what they have to share it not important. If they can’t tell you about the spirits they see in their room at night, or the colours they see around people, they’ll believe you don’t want to hear about the other things that happen in their life. You may notice your child begins to act out and becomes difficult to be around. Sadly, a lot of these children are medicated for behavioural problems.

I know two children, from the same family, who are both psychic. The first one, Adam** (names have been changed) was discouraged from talking with his “imaginary friends” for fear of being ostracized by his peers. Any mention of the spirit world was off bounds so Adam didn’t feel he could share what was going on in his world. A few years later, Adam’s brother Josh was born. When Josh turned two, it became very obvious to the family that he was a very psychic child. During this time, the family became open to the spiritual world and was in a place where they could encourage Josh to share his experiences. Josh, having not experienced what Adam went through, doesn’t know another world. His only world is seeing the other side, communicating with angels, faeries and deceased people. It’s very natural for him. Adam has since been encouraged to share his experiences, to reconnect with his “invisible friends” (which turned out to be faeries), and has been given the tools to understand what he’s seeing, feeling and hearing.

Even if you encourage your child to “shut off” their psychic abilities now, it will emerge again, later in their life, although it may need some work to remember it all, such as how to see auras again or hear and communicate with the other side. It may not come as easily as when they were a child.

By starting this off at an early age, you nurture your child to be open about their amazing world and it’s really amazing what you will learn from them and their experiences.

Just know that whatever route you choose, it’s your choice and they are your children and you can raise them however you like. Have faith you’re making the right decision. I don’t judge you and others shouldn’t either. In all honesty, if I wasn’t psychic, I don’t know if I’d raise my children as psychics. I’m just grateful that I am and that I’m confident in my rediscovered gifts that I’m willing and able to share them with everyone in an open and loving way.

God Bless.

My child is psychic. Now What?

Congratulations for allowing them to be who they are! It’s not easy but it will be worth it. I recommend you take a basic psychic class or workshop. Check out your local metaphysical bookstore for a list of workshops and practitioners who could help. They could also recommend books for you to read. I suggest you read all you can on Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow children. There are many websites you can visit with valuable information. Use your intuition to guide you to what will serve you best. Also use your intuition to know what information to keep and what doesn’t work for you or your child.

Tell them about angels

Smudging

1. Tell them about angels.

Tell them about angels and how we all have at least one guardian angel with us.  (Did you know most people have two or more?) Your guardian angel was assigned to you at your birth and will stay with you until you die. They are here to guard and protect you.
There are other angels too and you can call on them at any time to be with you and your loved ones. But, because of this thing called “freewill” they can’t come to you until you call them and ask for their help. You don’t have to pray a formal prayer; all you have to do is ask or even just call out or think “Angels!” and they’re at your side.

Sometimes the ritual of a nighttime prayer helps to soothe a child. If this is the case, try this one:

Angel of God, my guardian dear
To whom God’s love commits me here
Ever this day be at my side
To light and guard, to rule and guide.

Perhaps placing a picture of an angel on a wall, or night table, where your child can see it from bed, would help.

2. Archangel Michael

Introduce your child to Archangel Michael. He is one amazing and very powerful angel. Archangel Michael is the overseer of lightworkers - psychic children are known as little lightworkers. Anyone who has a life purpose that involves bringing light, love and peace to the earth is considered a lightworker and Michael guides us.

He is also the angel to go to for protection, courage, and confidence. He is a BIG angel, standing way over seven feet tall. He has long blond hair and usually shows himself wearing armor and carrying a sword and shield.

He doesn’t chitchat. He’s more of a “direct and to the point” kind of angel.  His voice can be booming and loud and you will certainly not mistake him for another. His energy is HOT. You’ll feel the room heat up very quickly, once you call him in. His aura is blue/purple.

Now that you know about Michael, what do you do?
Ask him to move-in with your child. Seriously! Clairvoyant people have reported seeing him with a suitcase in hand when they’ve invited him to move-in with them.

How do you know he’s there?
You’re either going to see him, feel him, hear him, or just know that he’s there. It all depends on your psychic abilities:

Clairvoyance (people who see): will most likely see his blue/purple aura or sparkles of blue/purple light or they will see him, dressed in full armour!

Clairsentience (people who feel): will feel his heat and his presence. They will feel safe, protected and more confident.

Clairaudience (people who hear): will hear him. They can have conversations with him. He has a sense of humour and is very loving, in a blunt sort of way. People will either hear his booming voice as if someone where talking to them, or they may hear his voice inside of their head.

Claircognizance (people who know): will know, without a doubt, with every fiber of their being, that he is with them.

Once your child knows about this really cool angel protecting them, they’re going to feel so much better. Encourage them to talk to Michael regularly. They can tell him about their fears, worries, problems with school, whatever is on their mind. He’s an awesome listener and imparts great advice.

Call on Archangel Michael when you need him.
Your child should remember to call Michael whenever they feel scared. They can call “Michael!” or simply think his name or even think of him and he’ll appear. A good thing to know about angels is that they’re able to be with everyone at the same time so your child doesn’t need to worry about taking Michael from someone else, who they might feel needs him more.

Archangel Michael: the lightworker’s bouncer!
He can help by removing lower energies from the room and keeping them out. Just ask him to come in, vacuum the room of any lower energy, ask him to shield your child and keep them protected from lower energies. This is something you want to get in the habit of doing on a regular basis. I’d suggest making it part of the bedtime ritual.

Shielding techniques.
Michael will also suggest your child shield himself/herself regularly. Teach them to imagine a bubble of light in their favorite colour surrounding them. The bubble usually last for twelve hours and will need to be invoked again. On some occasions, Michael has been known to give his shield to the lightworker for protection. Once your child develops a relationship with Michael, they can ask him for guidance on the best shielding technique to use and how often to use it.

Setting boundaries.
Your child has an amazing gift. The spirit world knows it and wants to get messages to their loved ones through your child - so they visit.

Your child has the right to say: No! Go away! I don't want you in my room! Archangel Michael, please remove these people from my room (or something to that effect.)

Encourage your child to stand up for him/herself and set that boundary. It's their gift and their choice on how they want to use it. They need to be firm and confident in saying No! Tell them to call on Michael and ask for confidence and courage so their No! will sound convincing.

Perhpas placing a photo of Archangel Michael on your child's wall will give them comfort while they get to know their new best friend.

3. Crystals

Crystals are very powerful tools. They can be used for many reasons, including healing and protection. I would suggest you bring your child to a gem/crystal store and let them pick out crystals they are drawn to.

Then, using their intuition, have them place the crystals around their room and around the house (inside and/or outside). They may feel drawn to placing crystals under their pillow or under their bed, perhaps even keeping one in their shirt or pants pocket. Allow their intuition to take the lead on how to use crystals.

There is no right or wrong way and no right or wrong crystal. There are many books describing the qualities of crystals, suggested uses and how to care and clean your crystal. My favorite is “The Crystal Bible”.

4. Smudging

Smudging is a way to “clean house” or purify a living space. You can use herbs such as sage, cedar, pine, lavender, or sweet grass. You can research how to smudge by using the Internet, or visiting your local metaphysical bookstore. I like to use sage and/or sweet grass.

My child sees colours around people, animals, plants, even objects. What is he/she seeing? What do the colours mean?

The colours your child is seeing is called an “aura”. Aura is the energy that surrounds all things – living and inanimate objects. Everyone can see auras. It’s easier and comes more naturally for people who are clairvoyant, the rest of us need to train ourselves to see them.

The easiest way to see an aura is by placing a sheet of white paper on a table. Place your hand on the paper. Look at your hand and allow your eyes to relax and go slightly out of focus. You will notice an outline around your hand. It may be white or grey to begin, or perhaps you see a colour? This is your aura!

Each colour has a meaning. I believe the meaning is different for each person. What I perceive red to mean may be different to what red means to you. I believe you need to trust your intuition to know what the colours represent to you.

In some cases, the colour can correspond to the chakras* or even angels. Here are some suggestions of what the colours mean:

Red: Root Chakra, Archangel Gabriel, passion, anger, survival, power, grounding, satisfaction, material security, courage, primal trust.

Orange: Sacral Chakra, sexuality, desire, procreation, pleasure, awe, enthusiasm, relationships, creativity.

Yellow: Solar Plexus Chakra, Archangel Uriel, personal power, social identity, authority, energy, will, joy, self-acceptance, strength.

Green: Heart Chakra, Archangel Raphael, love, harmony, forgiveness, healing, compassion, understanding, sharing, sincerity.

Bright Pink: Archangel Jophiel.

Light Pink: Archangel Ariel, love, beauty.

Light Blue: Throat Chakra, Archangel Haniel, peace, calm, communication, self-expression, confidence, truth.

Dark Blue: Archangel Zadkiel, Archangel Michael**.

Aqua Blue: Archangel Raguel.

Indigo: Third Eye Chakra, Archangel Michael**, intuition, clairvoyance, projection of will, manifestation.

Violet: Crown Chakra, Archangel Michael**, perfection, unity with God, Divine wisdom and purpose, bliss, understanding, enlightment.

*Chakras: Our body is made up of seven main energy centres known as chakras - Root, Sacral, Solar plexus, Heart, Throat, Brow and Crown. Each chakra regulates an area of our physical body as well as the emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. If our chakras are not working properly we will feel the effects in our physical body.

**Archangel Michael has been known to show up as a dark blue, purple and/or indigo colour.

Please use the above list as a rough guide only. Your intuition is always the best guidance!
